Events - Book Fair

The Literati Book Fair is coming our way! Join us for a great big story safari from May 13 – 17, 2024 in the LES Library.

Every purchase supports our school! In addition to each class having their own book fair hours during the week, the book fair will be open during lunchtime, after school, and on Open House/Art Fair night.

Here’s what you need to know about our Fair:

  • May 13th – 17th in our school library.
  • Children will preview the fair during a special class time.
  • Teachers will have wishlist book bins – you can contribute books to classrooms!
  • Payment: cash, Literati Gift Cards, credit and debit cards, and Apple and Google Pay accepted. But we encourage Literati Gift Cards for your kids! It’s easy! With the gift cards, there’s no need to send cash to school. Money can be added anytime throughout the week, but it needs at least one hour to process so please do this step EARLY.
  • Visit our Book Fair Homepage at efairs.literati.com and purchase your gift card(s) before the fair begins!

  • Book Fair Hours:
    • Open Monday – Friday @ lunchtime recess: Monday lunch: 4th/5th Grades; Tuesday lunch: 2nd/3rd Grades; Wednesday lunch; K/1st Grades (Kinders must be accompanied by a parent/guardian); Thursday and Friday Lunch: 3rd- 5th
    • Open Monday – Friday after school for all students & families:
      • Monday: 2:30 – 3:30 pm
      • Tuesday: 2:30 – 3:30 pm
      • Wednesday: 1:00 – 3:30 pm
      • Thursday, Open House Night: 2:30 – 5:30 & 6:30 – 7:15 pm
      • Friday: 2:30 – 3:30 pm

  • Any books put on hold will be reshelved the following day.
  • While there is nothing like the excitement of shopping the fair in person, if you can’t make it, please shop our school’s Online Book Fair! efairs.literati.com

The countdown to our Story Safari is on! Catch you at the Fair!

Any questions? Please contact the Book Fair Committee: Andi Brown, Sam Patath, Monica Segobia, Kate Scharf & Librarians Briannon McCurdy and Thuy Le

LafSD & City of Lafayette: Downtown Pathways & Schools Safety Project Survey

Complete a Survey for the Connecting Lafayette Project

The Connecting Lafayette project will enhance safety and access with new dedicated pathways on Topper Lane and School Street. These paths will connect downtown, Lafayette Elementary, Stanley Middle School, and the Lafayette-Moraga Regional Trail.

The City is inviting all Lafayette residents to complete an online survey for the project.  The survey seeks input on the final iteration of the conceptual designs for the project and will be live until Friday, May 24th.  Your input is critical as we get close to finalizing the layout for the pathways. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/connectinglafayette.

New, Reduced School-Zone Speed Limits are on Their Way Across Lafayette!

As your kids return to school this fall, you’ll notice new signs in many locations around Lafayette’s schools showing new slower speed limits.  Compliant with state guidance, the new school zone speed limits of 15 mph and 25 mph were adopted by City Council for eligible roadway segments around all of our schools.  This effort is intended to enhance the safety of children, parents, and caregivers, while walking and bicycling to school.  This map illustrates all of the roadway segments where speed limits will change this summer. Questions can be directed to Patrick Golier, Transportation & Circulation Program Manager.
